1/28 "Get Your Bell Rung" Invitational ALL Varsity Wrestlers and Team Managers need to be at the Mt View wrestling room Saturday morning by 5:30am with your Day 2 Singlet, Warm Ups and Wrestling Gear. Our Bus will depart Mt View at 5:45am to head to Woodgrove High School in Purcellville, Va for the 2nd Annual "Get Your Bell Rung Invitational". Wrestling will begin at 9:00am for those that plan to come and support the wrestlers.
JV Wrestlers do not have Practice this Saturday.
2011-2012 Team Practice Schedule Practice is 2:30pm-6:30pm, Monday-Friday
Practice is 9am-Noon on Saturday's.

We traveled to J.R. Tucker HS for the 16 Team Individual Tournament and we had our best overall performance of the season. We had 12 Varsity wrestlers entered and 2 Bandits and one of our Bandits Placed Top 8. As a Team we finished in 2nd Place and 12 of the 14 wrestlers that went Placed Top 8 and we had 4 Individual Champions.

The Varsity wrestlers traveled to Cumberland HS for the 16 Team Duals Tournament. It was a tough day for us due to the fact that we had to forfeit 2 weight classes but the boys fought hard and we went 4-1 as a Team and finished in 3rd Place.
Jonny Lopez, Jamie Barter & Brandon Frazier all went 5-0 on the day. Also Jonny Lopez was selected as the Tournament Outstanding Wrestler.

The Varsity wrestlers traveled to Orange County HS for Part 3 the last part of District Duals for this season. We had to forfeit 2 weight classes on the evening 138 & 195 so right off the start we give the other Team 12 points. Round 1 we beat Albemarle 60-15, Round 2 we had a Bye and in Round 3 we lost to Stafford Senior 42-28.
Jonny Lopez, Junior Beltran, Danny Soares, Bennie Parker and Trevor Staats went 2-0 on the evening.

The Mt View Varsity wrestlers traveled to Millbrook HS for the 2 Day 17 Team Mayhem at Millbrook Individual Tournament. The field of Teams were very strong with last years AAA Team State Champions Robinson and AA Powerhouses Fauquier & Millbrook. Also the Top VISAA HS for Virginia St. Christopher was there. As a Team we finished in 7th Place overall.

The Mt View Varsity wrestlers traveled to Stafford Senior HS for Part 2 of District Duals. We would have to Forfeit 2 weight classes due to Josh Crawford and Brandon Frazier being out of the line up. So right off the bat were giving the other team 12 points with the 2 FFT's. We went 2-1 as a Team, we lost by 1 point to Brooke Point and we beat Massaponax & Riverbend.

Overall Season Dual Record: 15-9 | | | 12/22/2011 | Appalachian Duals:
The Varsity wrestlers traveled to Skyline HS in Front Royal Va for the 2 Day 16 Team 5th Annual Appalachian Duals. Due to injuries we still don't have our full Varsity Line Up so some of the boys had to wrestle up a weight class. On Day 1 we had to wrestle the 3 other Teams in our Pool which we went 2-1. We beat Jefferson WV & Briar Woods but lost a close match to the #3 seed Team Osbourn. On Day 2 we had to wrestle the #1 Team from another Pool which was Broad Run and we lost another close match. Now the boys would be fighting back trying to finish at best 3rd Place. We had to face another Commonwealth District Team and a team we have already faced this season which was North Stafford, we beat them and then had to face Osbourn again and once again lost another close match to Osbourn. Overall the Team finished 5th out of the 16 Teams.

The Mt View Varsity wrestlers traveled to Musselman High School in WV for the 8 Team Duals Tournament. We finished 2nd in our Pool with beating Winfield WV and Martinsburg WV and losing to the eventual Team Champs Fauquier. Our next Dual was against the Home Team and the #1 Team from the other Pool Musselman WV. We beat Musselman and then faced the #2 Team from that Pool CD Hylton and we ended the day with another W. The team went 4-1 for a 2nd Place Team Finish.
Seniors & Team Captains Jonny Lopez & Danny Soares went 5-0 on the day and were selected for the All Tournament Team.
Danny Soares started the day knowing he needed 5 wins to achieve his 100th Career Win and he did just that. Danny also had a big win by beating the #4 Ranked AA wrestler Landon Dean from Fauquier 5-1.

We travled to Colonial Forge the #1 Ranked Wrestling High School in the State for Part 1 of District Duals to face North Stafford, Orange County and Colonial Forge. The evening started out well with a 52-23 Win over North Stafford and then got rough with a 50-24 Loss to Orange County and then rougher with a 70-6 Loss to Colonial Forge. All State wrestler Connor Maenz is still on the (IR) for the season.
Senior and Team Captain Jonny Lopez went 3-0 on the night to improve his Season Record to 13-0.

The Mt View Varsity travled North for the 24th Annual NOVA Classic 2 Day Tournament. It's a tough tournament with mostly all the Northern Va and Prep Schools. The total team field was 32 Teams, so wrestlers were put into Individual 32 Man Brackets. The Top 8 Individual wrestlers in each bracket would Place for their weight class. We had 4 Varsity wrestlers Place Top 8 and as a Team we finished 13th out of the 32 Teams with a Team Score of 86 Points.

138 - Jared Swan went 4-2 - 7th Place

Mt View wrestlers travled to Spotsylvania HS for the 10 Team Duals Tournament and went 4-1 on the day and brings home the 2nd Place Team Trophy.
The team was without returning All State starter Connor Maenz (120) and forfeited (126) in every match. We have a young Varsity with 6 starting Freshmen and 3 starting Sophomores but the boys worked hard. We went 4-0 in our Pool by beating Cave Spring, Spotsylvania, Washington & Lee (Montross) and Kettle Run.
In the team finals we lost a tough dual with the other undefeated team from the other pool Chancellor.
Mt View wrestlers Jonny Lopez, Josue Beltran Jr., Bennie Parker and Brandon Fraizer all went 5-0 on the day.
